A carnivorous plant, the Venus Fly Trap's foliage is comprised of several broad stems each with a set of leafy jaws at its end. The jaws of the Venus Fly trap are typically a light green color with the inner walls being a shade of pink or red, but the color can range from completely red to completely green. Each set of jaws has a set of hair like follicles lining the edges that are sensitive to movement. When an insect is the detected, the jaws of the Venus Fly Trap with clamp down on its prey for the plant to use as food.
