A spring time blooming shrub that features fragrant purple to deep-violet blooms with two-tone silver underside. This lilac was developed by famed lilac expert John Fiala. It is upright, compact and very hardy. When most other lilacs have finished flowering, this compact variety is just beginning. Disease resistant, it is a good choice for foundation plantings and as a specimen. It can tolerate light shade, but prefers sun and a good, rich moist soil. Prune after flowering. This upright and rounded lilac forms a great small tree and at mature height will get 7 feet tall and 8 feet wide.
