The Purple Prince crabapple is a colorful, vibrant tree with a rounded habit. Red buds in the spring give way to profuse, fragrant, single red flowers. Pointed purple foliage matures to a bronze-green until turning shades of green, yellow, orange and red in the fall. The Purple Prince's maroon fruits are both showy and persistent, lasting from summer through winter. It has year round appeal with its interesting colors and angular branches. This low-maintenance crabapple is very adaptable to a wide range of soils.
